Administration Guide

FortiRecorder

The FortiRecorder module allows you to set up, manage, and view cameras directly through the FortiAnalyzer GUI.

Cameras can be set to record continuously and/or when motion is detected. Recorded video is stored in the root storage of the FortiAnalyzer device, however, it can be accessed from other ADOMs.

FortiRecorder includes two panes:

  • Camera Manager: Allows you to configure devices, profiles, and schedules.
  • Monitor: Allows you to view streaming and recorded video from configured devices.
Caution

When upgrading from FortiAnalyzer 6.2.0 to 6.2.1 and later, previously enabled cameras are disabled until a new camera key has been created. Once created, cameras can be re-enabled. See Creating a camera key.

Note

The FortiRecorder module and its features are only available in select FortiAnalyzer appliances and is disabled by default. See Enabling and disabling FortiRecorder and Supported platforms and cameras.

Note

Third-party cameras are not supported in the FortiRecorder module. For a list of supported cameras, see Supported platforms and cameras.
