Group assignment rules

Group assignment rules

You can use group assignment rules to automatically place endpoints into custom groups based on their installer ID, IP address, OS, or AD group.

If a newly connected endpoint does not match any group assignment rule and belongs to an imported AD domain, EMS moves the endpoint into the OU to which it belongs in the AD domain tree. If no AD domain has been imported, or the endpoint also does not belong to the imported AD domain, EMS places it in the Other Endpoints group.

EMS automatically places endpoints that do not apply for any group assignment rule into the Other Endpoints group.
