Data Protection Service Usage

Cloud Account storage management is located at ADMIN > Cloud Accounts > Storage tab.

When a cloud account is first deployed on FortiCNP, all the cloud account storages or buckets eligible to receive data protection and monitoring are shown in the Eligible Storage tab.

By default, when a cloud account storage is first deployed on FortiCNP, the Data Protection status is set to off.

Data Protection License Usage

When the Data Protection status is set to Off, it will not use any Data Protection license. Only account storages or buckets that have Data Protection turned On and initiated Data Scan will use Data Protection license. Data Protection license is only consumed by storage data scanned.

The benefit of manually enable Data Protection is only enable Data Protection on the storage or bucket that requires protection and monitoring.

Enable Data Protection on Storage Accounts

To enable Data Protection, locate a storage or bucket with Off status, click on Action button and select Enable Data Protection.

Then press the Action button again and select Start Data Scan to initiate data scan for virus and conduct data analysis.

If there are other storages or buckets being scanned at the same time, the storage or bucket may show Waiting status until resource become available.

Once the data scan is completed, it will only scan when new files are uploaded to the storage or bucket. The data scan can be repeated again by clicking Action and select Start Data Scan.

Every new data scan will use additional Data Protection license.
