After Universal Connector MEA is enabled, you can create fabric connectors to Guardicore Centra Security Platform.
The fabric connector contains the connection and authentication information for Guardicore Centra as well as the list of labels and assets to retrieve from Guardicore Centra to FortiManager. In Guardicore Centra, labels are in the format of key value pairs. In the Guardicore connector, you specify what labels and key value pairs to retrieve from Guardicore Centra to FortiManager.
After the fabric connector is configured to retrieve labels, you are ready to configure the Policy & Objects module in FortiManager. In the Policy & Objects module, enable Universal Connector MEA to start communication between FortiManager and Universal Connector MEA, and to automatically import labels from Universal Connector MEA to the Policy & Objects module.
After Universal Connector MEA is enabled in the Policy & Objects module, you can select the labels in objects and policies, and install them to managed FortiGates by using policy packages.
After the objects are installed to FortiGates, FortiManager uses the API to communicate via the Universal Connector MEA and fabric connector with Guardicore Centra to retrieve the current assets for labels, and then share the results with managed FortiGates. FortiGates do not communicate with Guardicore Centra.
