Health Monitor

Health Monitor

The Health Monitor is a collection of widgets that provide an overview of the AP status, clients counts, and wireless interference.

To view the Health Monitor:
  1. Go to AP Manager.
  2. In the tree menu, go to Device & Groups > Managed FortiGate (#), select a managed device. Alternatively, you can select a device in a group, see FortiAP groups.
  3. In the toolbar , click More > View Health Monitor.

  4. (Optional) Click and drag a widget title to reposition the widget in the monitor.
  5. (Optional) Click the Refresh button to refresh the widget data.
  6. (Optional) Click the column heading in a table to sort the data in ascending or descending order.

The following widgets are displayed:

Widget

Description

AP Status

Displays a bar graph of:

  • Uptime > 24 hours: The number of APs that have been up for over 24 hours.
  • Rebooted within 24 hours: the number of APs that have been rebooted within the past 24 hours.
  • Down/Missing: Down or missing APs.
Select a specific column to view a table of the APs represented in that column, along with other relevant information, such as the APs' IP address, and the time of its last reboot.

Select the name of a column in the legend to add or remove it from the graph.

This widget is only available when the All FortiAPs group is selected in the tree menu.

Client Count Over Time

A graph of the number of connected clients over the specified time period: 1 hour, 1 day, or 30 days.

This widget is only available when the All FortiAPs group is selected in the tree menu.

Top Client Count Per-AP (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Band)

Lists the number of clients in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band for each FortiAP. Also includes columns for the channel and bandwidth of the AP.

Top Wireless Interference (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Band)

Lists the number of interfering APs in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band for each FortiAP. Also includes columns for the channel and the number of MAC Errors for each AP.

Login Failures Information

Lists the time of a log in failure, the SSID involved, the Host Name/MAC, and the User Name.
