Step 7: Set a Static MAC Address

If your Hyper-V environment assigns MAC Addresses dynamically, you will need to set the MAC addresses for FortiNAC VMs to be Static. Use the following instructions or refer to your Hyper-V documentation.

  1. Power off the VM.

  2. On the VM Properties, open the vNIC Properties.

  3. Under Advanced Features, select the Static option.

  4. Enter the MAC address you wish to use as the static MAC address. Important: Ensure the MAC address is not within the dynamic address range generated by the Hyper-V host. See https://www.dtonias.com/set-vm-static-mac-address-hyper-v/

  5. Start the VM.

Appliance installation is complete. Proceed to the FortiNAC Deployment Guide to continue deployment.
