Uploading files to the Storage account

The template deployment will create two storage containers, one for the configset files and one for the license files.

To upload configset files to the Storage account:
  1. Load the resource group in which you deployed the template. This is the resource group you selected or created in step 6 of the section Creating a template deployment.
  2. Load the Storage account by clicking its name.
  3. From the Storage account navigation column, click Blobs.
  4. Click the configset container.
  5. Upload all the files in the configset folder of the deployment package to this container.

The blob container will look as shown below:

configset files

To upload license files to the Storage account:
  1. Load the resource group in which you deployed the template. This is the resource group you selected or created in step 6 of the section Creating a template deployment.
  2. Load the Storage account by clicking its name.
  3. From the Storage account navigation column, click Blobs.
  4. Click the fgt-asg-license container.
  5. Upload your BYOL license files to this container.
Note

If you provide two license files with the same content, only one of them will be used, the other one will be ignored.

If you upload a file with the same name but different content, there are two outcomes:

  • If the old license has not been distributed, the new file completely replaces the old one
  • If the old license has been distributed, the new file is treated as a new license. The old license is still valid, but it cannot be redistributed in the future.

Uploading files using the Azure CLI

An alternative to using the Azure console is to use the Azure CLI with the following commands.

Upload configset files to the Storage account with:

az storage blob upload-batch -d configset -s configset --account-name <storageAccountName> --account-key <storageAccountAccessKey>

Upload license files to the Storage account with:

az storage blob upload-batch -d "fgt-asg-license" -s "fgt-asg-license" --account-name <storageAccountName> --account-key <storageAccountAccessKey>

To obtain the storageAccountName and the storageAccountAccessKey:
  1. Load the resource group Overview page and click the link under Deployments.

    Resource group overview page (top)

  2. From the Deployments page, click Microsoft.Template.
