Personalized custom views

Personalized custom views

A new privacy setting is available for custom views. Users can create a custom view and share it with other users or create a private custom view that is only available to its owner. Prior to this enhancement, all custom views created by different administrators and users were displayed together.

In FortiAnalyzer 7.0.0, a privacy option is available when creating custom views which allows users to set the custom view as private (visible only to them) or public (visible to others).

This option is available in Log View, Fabric View, and FortiSoC.

By default, custom views created before this enhancement will be public. You can edit existing custom views to change their privacy status.

Log View

In Log View, administrators can create multiple private and public views. Users only see their own private views as well as other's public custom views.

Users can change privacy settings for a custom view at any time by clicking the settings icon for the view and selecting Share with Others. Users can also rename, save, and delete the view from the settings menu.

Users cannot make changes to other's custom views, but can use Save As in the settings menu to create a copy of another user's custom view. The copied view will be owned by the current user.

Fabric View

The same functionality is available as in Log View. Administrators can create custom views in the Identity Center and Assets panes.

FortiSoC

The same functionality is available as in Log View and Fabric View. Administrators can create custom views in the All Events, By Endpoint, By Threat, and System Events categories.

In FortiSoC, an Edit button is available through settings which replaces Rename and Share with Others available in Fabric View and Log View.

Use Edit to rename the custom view, as well as change its category and privacy status.
