Resource Column

Resource Column

The resource column contains several collapsible information and control tabs. The resource column allows you to quickly drag and drop objects such as cameras, sequencers, and media files into the pane area.

The primary resource column is the Device Panel. The Device Panel contains all of the added recorders and the cameras connected to those recorders. With the Device Panel, you can quickly assess the connection status of every added recorder.

  • A green bullet indicates an active connection with successful authorization.
  • A yellow bullet indicates that the recorder is visible on the network, but the user credentials used at FortiCentral are not acknowledged at the recorder.
  • A red bullet indicates that the recorder is not visible on the network. It may be down, disconnected, or misconfigured.
Note

The user account and password that is used for FortiCentral is also used to log into the FortiRecorders. So, user accounts in the recorders must be synchronized with those in the Central. Any user permissions that are applied to this user in the individual recorder affect what FortiCentral is allowed to do with this user logged in.

The Info Messages section of the Resource Column features a collection of log messages generated by the Central at specific times. For example, the log messages may inform you the exact time a connection failed for a specific recorder.
