Cloud Account Onboarding Process

Cloud Account Onboarding is the process of adding the cloud account to FortiCNP Cloud Protection.

The entire cloud account oboarding process takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

Depending on the amount of account resources that require to be synchronized, it may take longer or shorter time.

OnBoarding Process Diagram and Details

  1. Initializing and License Validation
    1. Check Permission - Check cloud account credentials for appropriate permission to be added to FortiCNP.
    2. License Validation - Check for available cloud account license seats to add the account.
  2. Onboarding - Onboarding process consists of 4 steps:
    1. Resource Synchronization - The cloud account resources are being synchronized. At the same time, API calls are made to acquire the cloud account resource information.
    2. Build Resource Risk Insight Table - After the cloud account resources are synchronized, findings are generated and applied to Resource Risk Insight table.
    3. Read CloudTrail Events - Check to see if cloud account data logs can be generated and retrieved, and make API calls to retrieve Cloudtrail events.
    4. Read Security Information - Check for the configuration of the AWS Security Hub Integration.
  3. Account Status Change - After all onboarding processes are completed, the account status is changed to Running/Partially Running or an error status.
