SSIDs

SSID characterizes a wireless network on the ExtremeCloud/Aerohive access point. You can create one or more SSIDs on the access point and you may choose to have FortiNAC manage any number of them. For those SSIDs you wish to have FortiNAC manage, the following configuration values must be set.

Assign the SSID a name.
Select the type of Key to be used (or leave open).
Select an Encryption type if applicable.
Select an Authentication type.
For MAC Authentication, leave everything open. Make sure to enable MAC based authentication.
Set the following:
- Roaming Cache Update Interval to 30
- Roaming Cache Ageout to 1
  
  These values help with connection and disconnection operations. The AP sends updates to its neighbors about its currently associated clients every 30 seconds. If the client is no longer connected, the client MAC address will be removed from the roaming cache after 1 Update Interval (30 seconds).
Under Optional Settings, select Choose User Profile Application Sequence. Set the sequence in the order of SSID, MAC Authentication, Captive Web Portal.
