FortiNAC Address Objects

FortiNAC Address Objects

Address objects and address group objects are used to define the IP range(s) to be managed by FortiNAC. This is required for both visibility and control purposes.

Navigate to System > Settings > System Communication > Addresses.

Review the Addresses table for the FortiGate address object(s) created in the previous Address Objects section.

If the object(s) created in that section are not listed, manually add them using the steps below. If they are present, skip this step.

Adding Address Objects

  1. Click Add above the Addresses table.

  2. Enter a Name for the address object.

  3. Select the Message Type from drill-down (Subnet or IP Range).

  4. Define IP/Network or IP Range (dependent upon the Message Type selected). Values must match the Address Objects configured in the FortiGate in the previous section.

    IP/Network required format: <IP address>/xx (CIDR)

    Example: 10.25.24.1/24

Adding Address Group Objects

  1. Click Add above the Address Group table.

  2. Enter a Name for the Network Address group.

  3. Select the address object from drill-down.

  4. To include additional objects, select another object from the drill-down menu.
