Deploying a FortiPortal instance

To deploy a FortiPortal virtual machine on Azure:
  1. Find the FortiPortal-VM in the Microsoft Azure Portal:
    1. Log into the Microsoft Azure Portal and click Create a resource.
    2. Search for FortiPortal Managed Security Service Platform and select it from the search results.

  2. Click Create.
  3. Configure the Basics section:

    1. Select the appropriate Subscription from the dropdown list. You may have only one option here. Ensure your organization's subscription allows you to purchase the product.

    2. Select the Resource group. You can either create a new resource group or select an existing one.

    3. Enter a name in the Virtual machine name field.

    4. Select the appropriate Region for the deployment.

    5. Select the appropriate Availability options.

    6. Select the desired Security type.

    7. Select the Image to use: FortiPortal-VM (BYOL) - x64 Gen1.

    8. Select the appropriate virtual machine Size. The minimum requirement for FortiPortal is 4 CPUs and 16 GB memory.

      Each VM size within each series has different limits for the amount of memory, number of NICS, maximum number of data disks, size of cache, and maximum IOPS and bandwidth.

    9. In Administrator account, specify the administrative user authentication details.

    10. Click Next: Disks.

  4. Configure the Disks section:

    1. Specify the values in this section according to your particular needs.

    2. Click Next: Networking.

  5. Configure the Networking section:

    1. Select the Virtual network. You can either create a new virtual network (VNet) or select an existing one.

    2. Select the Subnet where the FortiPortal-VM will be deployed.

    3. Select the Public IP. You can either create a new public IP address or select an existing one.

    4. In Configure network security group, select the network security group. You can either create a new network security group or select an existing one.

    5. In Load balancing, enable or disable load balancing and specify the load balancer settings.

  6. Configure the Management, Monitoring, Advanced, and Tags sections as needed.

  7. Click Review + create.

  8. Wait for validation to pass, then click Create. If an error occurs at this stage, resolve it or contact Microsoft support.

    Azure deploys the FortiPortal-VM and displays a success message upon completion. The deployment may take 30 minutes or longer to complete.

Deploying a FortiPortal instance

To deploy a FortiPortal virtual machine on Azure:
  1. Find the FortiPortal-VM in the Microsoft Azure Portal:
