Appendix A: Enabling vmxnet3 on the ESXi server

To enable vmxnet3 on the ESXi server, you will need to update the OS version you are running and then change network adapter to vmxnet3 .

To enable the vmxnet3 on the ESXi server:
  1. (Optional) Take a snapshot of the FortiSandbox, then shutdown the unit.
  2. Click the Edit button in the tool bar.

  3. In VM Options tab, click General Options.
  4. Change Guest OS to Linux.

  5. Change the Guest OS Version to Red Hat 9 64bit.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Edit. again.
  8. Click the Virtual Hardware tab.
    1. Click the Network Adapter you want to change
    2. Update the Adapter Type to vmxnet3,
    3. Click Save.

  9. Power the unit on.
