Step 6: Request and upload a FortiSandbox VM entitlement

Create a service to request an entitlement file for FortiSandbox VM.

To apply the ticket:
  1. Log in to FortiCloud. The Asset Management portal opens.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Products > Products List and search for the FortiSandbox Serial Number for the entitlement.
  3. Click the serial number. The View Products <serial_number> page opens.
  4. In the Entitlement widget , verify FortiSandbox Windows Cloud VM Service is listed. If it is not listed, see “How to register license of FortiSandbox Windows Cloud VM Service”.

  5. In Tickets widget, click Create a Support Ticket . The Create Ticket page is displayed.

  6. Click Customer Service > Submit Ticket.

  7. On the Specify Ticket Information page enter the ticket information.

    1. Verify the Serial Number, Name, and Email are correct.
    2. In the Subject field enter Entitlement File.
    3. From the Category dropdown select Contract/License.
    4. Click Next.

  8. On the Add Comment page, request the entitlement file then click Next. Please make sure to specify you are requesting the entitlement file or it will not be emailed to you.

  9. On Completed page click Finish. The request is added to the Tickets widget in the product details.

Allow four to five hours to receive an email with the Subject Ticket No. xxxxx Ticket Title: Entitlement File with an attachment named Entitlement Export. Download this file to upload it to FortiManager.

To upload the Entitlement file in FortiManager:
  1. Log in to FortiManager and go to FortiGuard > Settings. When Enable Communication with FortiGuard Server is disabled (air-gapped mode), you will see two upload buttons: Packages and Database and Service License.

  2. Click the Upload button next to Service License, and upload the Entitlement Export file to import the contract and license.
  3. Wait one to two hours.
  4. Run the following CLI command:

    dia fmupdate dbcontract <serial_number>

    The contract and license should be listed, including FSAW which is for the Windows Cloud VM.

  5. Log in the FortiSandbox with the serial number in your ticket.
  6. go to System >FortiGuard, and verify the FDS server is using the FortiManager, then click Connect FDN Now to download the contract.
  7. Got to Dashboard > Status to verify the VM is connected.
