Working with Device Groups
This section provides the procedures to set up Device Groups.

Adding Device Groups
Complete these steps to add device groups:
- Go to CMDB and click Devices folder on the left panel.
- Click + above the list of CMDB groups list.
- In the Create New Device Group dialog box, enter/select the information below:
Settings Guidelines Scope Select the organization from the drop-down list. Group [Required] Enter a name for the group. Description Enter a description of the device group. Folders Choose a folder under Devices to view items that reside in the selected folder. Items in Current Folder Displays the devices in the selected folder. Use the |<, <, > and >| buttons to page through the list of devices. Select the device(s) you want to include in the new group, and move to Items in Group. Items in Group Select devices from Items in Current Folder and move them to Items in Group. These devices will be the members of the new group. - Click Save.
The new device group appears on the left panel.
Modifying Device Groups
Complete these steps to modify a Device Group:
- Click Devices from the left panel and navigate to the device group.
- Select the required change from the table below:
Settings Guidelines Edit To modify any Device Group. Delete To delete any Device Group. - Click Save.
Performing Operations on Device Groups
You can perform a number of operations on devices or device groups by selecting the Actions drop-down list. For more information on these actions, see Performing Operations on Devices and Device Groups.
Changing Display Columns
Complete these steps to choose which columns appear in the device table.
- Click the Columns icon.
- Select the columns you want to display by adding a checkmark. Likewise, you can remove columns from the display by removing the checkmark from a column heading with a checkmark.
The table will display your chosen columns.
