FortiSOAR Deployment and Initial Setup
Deploy FortiSOAR
After selecting the appropriate platform, sizing, and completing all prerequisites, deploy FortiSOAR using the process mentioned in the Deployment Guide.
Perform initial configuration
Once installation is complete, use the 'Configuration Wizard' to bootstrap the appliance. This includes tasks such as automatically generating new keys and passwords unique to the FortiSOAR instance, generating the UUID for the device, and optionally changing the hostname and DNS of the FortiSOAR instance, etc.
Leverage the FortiSOAR trial license for development environments
After installing FortiSOAR, activate the trial license for development environments, or apply your production license if already procured. The trial license is easy to activate and does not expire. A development environment is essential for continuous development and testing of automation use-cases without affecting the production environment. With the Enterprise trial license, teams can run their development environments without incurring additional licensing costs.
Note that although the trial license has unlimited duration, it comes with certain limitations. It restricts FortiSOAR usage to 2 users and a maximum of 1000 actions per day. Users can choose to deploy either the "Enterprise" or "Multi-Tenant" edition. Once the daily action is reached, FortiSOAR will display appropriate messages, such as "Daily limit for action count has been exceeded. You cannot execute any more actions. " You can upgrade the trial license to a full production license at any time by purchasing a FortiSOAR license and updating it using either the FortiSOAR CLI or UI.

Before deploying your FortiSOAR license, ensure that the system can connect to https://globalupdate.fortinet.net. License deployment will fail without connectivity to this address, which is required to retrieve license entitlements and ensure proper product functionality after an upgrade. |

Once the license has been activated, you can log in to FortiSOAR and continue with the configuration process to complete the system setup.
