Remediation

Remediation

Selecting Remediation from the navigation bar gives you quick access to rules which affect your Campaigns.

Remediation allows you to do things like sending a notification to a student when they are allocated to a Campaign, issuing a certificate or badge or a competence upon program completion, or sending a reminder when the program is overdue. You can also select FortiPhish campaign properties in order to assign a training campaign.

Remediation conditions

The remediation conditions are:

  • FortiPhish Conditions

    • User clicked: User opened a FortiPhish email and clicked a link in a FortiPhish email.

    • User failed: User performed any of the open, clicked, or submitted events.

    • User opened: User opened a FortiPhish email.

    • User passed: User reported the email as a phishing email using the email plugin.

    • User submitted: User opened a FortiPhish email, clicked a link, entered their username and password, and clicked login.

  • Campaign Conditions

    • Campaign certified: User has completed all modules and quizzes in a campaign.

    • Campaign expired: The campaign has reached its end date.

    • Campaign overdue: User did not complete the campaign by the assigned user end date.

    • Users allocated to campaign: User was allocated to a campaign. This triggers the invite email.

Remediation actions

The remediation actions are:

  • General

    • Notification: Used to send emails when a condition is met.

  • Campaigns

    • Allocate user to campaign: Assigns a user to a campaign when the condition is met.

You can configure conditions and applicable actions (taken when the condition is met). In this example, we will create an invite email for one of our campaigns.

To configure conditions and actions:
  1. Go to Remediation and select +Create Rule.

  2. Edit the rule name and give it a meaningful name (such as Invitation email: <name of campaign> or Phishing Rule <name of phishing campaign>).

  3. Select the Condition that will fire the rule. For this example, we are sending an invitation email to a campaign, so we will select Users allocated to campaign, then select the applicable campaign this invitation email is for.

  4. Select the Campaign that the email invitation applies to.

  5. Select the Action that will be taken when the condition (learners added to the campaign) occurs. In this case, send a notification.

  6. Configure the Notification section:

    1. Enter a descriptive Subject for the email notification.

    2. Enter the desired content to the Body for the email notification. You can use the templates provided in Resource > Asset to pair the look and feel of the email with the service. You can also use the formatting features (bold, italicize and other formatting). You may wish to personalize the email by using the available placeholders.

    3. Select Matching Users so that the invite is sent to the users who match the conditions.

    4. Optionally, you mayselect Manager. This feature is helpful when sending reminders that the learner has passed the due date, or, in the case of a FortiPhish Condition, when you want the manager to be aware when a user opens, clicks, or submits in a FortiPhish phishing campaign email.

    5. Click Save.

  7. Once the rule is saved, click Remediation and enable the rule using the Status option.

Tenant Administrators can view the current set of remediation rules by selecting Remediation from the navigation menu. They can also edit the properties of the remediation rule or delete it completely. This allows administrators to repurpose rules for new campaigns after the current campaign has completed and been archived or archived and deleted.
