About this guide

This guide helps the reader understand SecGWs as well as how to design a solution in a Mobile Network. This document has been prepared to provide technically-focussed SecGW solution details, guidance, and the different reference architectures that should be considered for customer projects.

It should be noted that this guide is specific only to the SecGW use case, and does not broaden or elaborate on the many other functions and use cases the platform can offer.

This guide is based on the latest maturity release of FortiOS that can be recommended for SecGW deployments. Currently this is FortiOS 7.0.xM (Mature). Earlier or more recent versions of FortiOS might require different design and configuration considerations.
