Conclusion

Fortinet has a comprehensive SecGW solution. Using IPsec acceleration with NP7 in appliances and vSPU in VMs, it meets MNO's requirement to high speed and low latency.

In FortiOS software features used, we outlined which FortiOS software features to utilize in the SecGW solution.

In Mobile network operator architecture, we learned about MNO architecture and what 3GPP interfaces a SecGW can protect. In MNO design examples, we learned where to place centralized and decentralized SecGW for macrocells and microcells and how to place SecGW for small cells and different RAN architectures, such as C-RAN and neutral host architecture.
