The following list highlights some of the new features and enhancements introduced in this release:

Feature and enhancement Description

Admin Profile includes Call History

Adds the Call History option in System > Administrator > Admin Profile.

Dynamic emergency zone

Supports IP subnet-based dynamic location identification for emergency calling.

When a user moves a phone from one location to another, FortiVoice dynamically updates the E911 info with the new location information.

FortiFone FON-280B phone

Supports this new Fortinet IP desk phone model.

FortiVoice local survivable gateway (LSG) solution supports FortiVoice FXO and PRI gateways

Allows branch offices in a FortiVoice LSG solution to support the following gateways:

  • FortiVoice foreign exchange office (FXO) gateway, FVG-GO08
  • FortiVoice primary rate interface (PRI) gateways, FVG-GT01 and FVG-GT02

Improved web CLI console

Updated the web CLI console with better functionality and responsiveness.

Increased the number of managed gateways

  • FVE-2000F and FVE-VM-2000: 80 (was 50)
  • FVE-5000F and FVE-VM-5000: 150 (was 100)

Shared line appearance

Allows any member of a shared line appearance (SLA) group to answer calls received on that shared line.

Short message service (SMS)

Allows FortiVoice users to send and receive text messages to and from contacts with cellular phone numbers. Those contacts are external to the FortiVoice phone system.

Phone users exchange chat messages by using an app such as the FortiFone softclient for mobile and FortiFone softclient for desktop.

This feature requires the Unified Communications Services entitlement and FortiFone softclient for mobile 7.0.0 or FortiFone softclient for desktop 3.0.15.

Single sign on

Allows the user to access both the FortiVoice GUI and user portal without having to do a second sign in.

Third-party Yealink W60B

Adds support for the Yealink W60B, a DECT IP base station.

Token-based connection to Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

Secures the communication of FortiVoice with APNs by using authentication tokens.

Two-factor authentication

Adds the two-factor authentication to access the FortiVoice GUI and user portal.
