Configuring hardware

Before starting your FortiVoice VM for the first time, you can optionally adjust your virtual machine's virtual hardware settings to meet your network requirements.

Configuring number of CPUs and memory size

Your FortiVoice VM license limits the number CPUs and amount of memory that you can use. See Licensing.

To access virtual machine settings
  1. Open the XenCenter.
  2. Select your FortiVoice VM in the left pane.
  3. The tabs in the right pane provide access to the virtual hardware configuration. The Console tab provides access to the FortiVoice console.

To set the number of CPUs
  1. In the XenCenter left pane, right-click the FortiVoice VM and select Properties.
  2. The FortiVoice-VM-XEN-Properties window opens.

  3. In the left pane, select CPU and Memory.

To optimize the FortiVoice VM performance, make sure to select the number of vCPUs that the Citrix Hypervisor server can support.

  1. Adjust Number of vCPUs and click OK.
To set the memory size
  1. In the XenCenter left pane, select the FortiVoice VM.
  2. In the right pane, select the Memory tab.
  3. Click Edit, modify the value in the Set a fixed memory of field and click OK.

  3. In the left pane, select CPU and Memory.

  1. Adjust Number of vCPUs and click OK.
To set the memory size
  1. In the XenCenter left pane, select the FortiVoice VM.
  2. In the right pane, select the Memory tab.
