Installing Security Event Manager Controller with VMware ESXi
To install the Security Event Manager Controller with VMware ESXi:
- Download and unzip the
FAZBD_VM64-vX-buildxxxx-FORTINET.out.ovf.zip
locally. - Log in to VMware ESXi server.
- In the Navigator sidebar, right-click Host and select Create/Register VM.
The New Virtual Machine wizard displays.
- Using the New Virtual Machine wizard, configure the FortiAnalyzer-BigData-VM:
- Select creation type
- Select Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA file.
- Click Next.
- Select OVF and VMDK files
- Enter a name for your virtual machine.
- Select or drag-and-drop the OVF and VMDK files downloaded in step 1.
The files you selected are displayed in the blue pane.
- Click Next.
- Select storage
- Select the type of storage for your virtual machine.
- From the list, select a data storage location for your virtual machine.
- Click Next.
- Deployment options
- Select a port group to map to the VMs network.
FortiAnalyzer-BigData requires two network interfaces.
For example, select vlan10 as the Internal interface and DPortGroup as the External interface.
- Click Next.
If Power on automatically is selected, the VM will power on automatically after you have finished creation. For next steps, see Powering on the VM from VMware ESXi.
- Select a port group to map to the VMs network.
- Ready to complete
- Review the configuration settings for the virtual machine.
- Click Finish to complete the creation task and close the wizard.
The virtual machine appears in the VMware Host Client inventory under Virtual Machines.
