Installing Security Event Manager Controller with VMware vSphere

To install the Security Event Manager Controller with VMware vSphere:
  1. Log in to vSphere Client web console.
  2. In the sidebar tree, right-click the intended physical host.
  3. From the shortcut menu, select Deploy OVF Template....

    The Deploy OVF Template wizard displays.

  4. Using the Deploy OVF Template wizard, configure the FortiAnalyzer-BigData-VM:
    1. Select an OVF Template.

      To upload the OVF template from local:

      1. Download and unzip the FAZBD_VM64-vX-buildxxxx-FORTINET.out.ovf.zip locally.
      2. Select the Local file radio button.
      3. Click Browse and select all OVF related files.

      4. Click NEXT.

      Alternatively, you can upload the OVF template from remote:

      1. On a remote server that VSphere can access, such as FTP server, download and unzip FAZBD_VM64-vX-buildxxxx-FORTINET.out.ovf.zip. Put the .ovf and other files in the same path.
      2. Select the URL radio button.
      3. In the field below the URL radio button, type the URL of the BDController.ovf file.

      4. Click NEXT.
    2. Select a name and folder.
      1. Specify a VM name and select its intended location.
      2. Click NEXT.

    3. Select a computer resource.
      1. Select the physical machine.
      2. Click NEXT.

    4. Review details.
      1. After reviewing the OVF details, click NEXT.

    5. License agreements.
      1. After reviewing the license agreements, select the checkbox for I accept all license agreements.
      2. Click NEXT.

    6. Select storage.
      1. Select the data storage location.
      2. Click NEXT.

    7. Select networks.

        FortiAnalyzer-BigData requires two network interfaces.

      1. Select one network interface for external communication.
      2. Select another network interface for communication within the cluster.
      3. Click NEXT.

        In the screenshot below, vlan10 is selected as the Internal interface and DPortGroup is selected as the External interface.

    8. Ready to complete.
      1. After verifying the information, click FINISH to start the deployment.

To install the Security Event Manager Controller with VMware vSphere:
