Configuring an address

Configuring an address

Address and address group firewall objects support IPv6 addresses.

To configure an address:
  1. Go to Security > Firewall Objects.
  2. Select Address in the firewall object type dropdown.
  3. In the Create dropdown, select Address or select an existing address from the list and click Edit.
  4. In the form, enter the following information:

    Category

    Select Address or IPv6 Address.

    Name

    Required. Enter a name for the address.

    Color

    From the dropdown, select the color used for this object in lists.

    Type

    Required.

    If Category is set to Address, select from the following options:

    AddressIPv6Address
    • Subnet (default)
    • IP Range

    • FQDN

    • Geography

    • Device (MAC Address)

    • IPv6 Subnet (default)
    • IPv6 Range

    • IPv6 FQDN

    • IPv6 Geography

    • IPv6 Fabric Connector Address

    • IPv6 Template

    • Device (MAC Address)

    IP/Netmask

    Required. Enter the IP address and the netmask.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is Subnet.

    IPv6 Address

    Required. Enter the IPv6 address and the netmask.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is IPv6 Subnet.

    IP Range

    Required. Enter the IP address range.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is IP Range or IPv6 Range.

    FQDN

    Required. Enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is FQDN or IPv6 FQDN.

    Geography/Region

    Required. Select a country/territory from the dropdown.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is Geography or IPv6 Geography.

    SDN Connector

    Required. Select from the available SDNs.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is IPv6 Fabric Connector Address.

    IPv6 Address Template

    Required. Select from the available IPv6 address templates.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is IPv6 Template.

    Host Type

    Select any or select specific and enter the Host address.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is IPv6 Template.

    Mac Address

    Click +, and enter the MAC addresses.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is Device (MAC Address).

    Interface

    Required. Select the interface.

    Static route configuration

    Enable or disable static route configuration.

    Note: This option is not available when the Type is Geography or Device (MAC Address).

    Comments

    Enter comments about the address.

  5. Click Save.

Configuring an address

    IP/Netmask

    Required. Enter the IP address and the netmask.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is Subnet.

    Mac Address

    Click +, and enter the MAC addresses.

    Note: This option is only available when the Type is Device (MAC Address).

    Interface

    Required. Select the interface.

    Static route configuration

    Enable or disable static route configuration.

    Note: This option is not available when the Type is Geography or Device (MAC Address).

    Comments

    Enter comments about the address.

  5. Click Save.
