Enabling STUN server

When your FortiFone softclient is located behind a Network Address Translator (NAT) or FortiFone softclients are on different networks, enable the Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN) server setting. With the STUN server setting enabled, your FortiFone softclient gets a public IP address which is sent to the FortiVoice phone system to establish a valid audio path. Without this public IP address, the FortiVoice phone system is unable to discover the FortiFone softclient behind the NAT and set up a proper audio connection.

To enable the STUN server
  1. Select Setting > Network.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select Default for the FortiFone softclient to choose the default STUN server based on your login account and local settings.
    • Select Alternative to choose your own STUN server. You need to enter the URL of the server.

Viewing hotkeys

Setting > Hotkey displays the hotkeys you can use during calls and when dealing with incoming calls.

You can also configure Speed Dial by entering a phone number or extension number in the Number field and a label (for example, a contact name).
