Request Commands

request firmware upgrade

This command upgrades the device firmware.

Syntax

request firmware upgrade <file path>

The following file path formats are supported.

  • [user@]host2:]file2
  • scp://user@host:file
  • sftp://user@ host:file
  • file:///local_file_path
  • ftp://user@ host:file
  • tftp://host:file

For example, request firmware upgrade scp://user1@10.35.2.41:/home/user1/Desktop/fortiguest_VM64-v1.0.0-build0003-FORTINET.tar.fwout

You can upload a file using TFTP and upgrade, for example, request firmware upgrade tftp://10.37.1.1:fortiguest_VM64-v1.0.0-build0016-FORTINET.tar

request system

This command requests the system to perform specific tasks such as reboot, halting the system, and drops in the system shell.

Syntax

request system

The following parameters are available for this command.

  • reboot- Reboots the device.
  • shell - Drops in system shell.
  • halt- Halts system.
  • manufacturing_halt - Removes the configured password and stops the system.
