Settings

The default administrator password should be configured immediately after the FortiGate is installed, see Default administrator password.

After that, there are several system settings that should also be configured in System > Settings:

• Changing the host name
• Setting the system time
• Configuring ports
• Setting the idle timeout time
• Setting the password policy
• Changing the view settings
• Setting the administrator password retries and lockout time
