Pre-Run CLI template runs once on model device to preconfigure it with required settings.

To create a pre-run CLI template:
  1. Create a pre-run CLI template.
    1. Go to Device Manager > Provisioning Templates > CLI Templates.
    2. Click Create New, and create a new pre-run CLI template.
    3. Enter the template name and script details, and click OK. In this example, the template is named "add-interfaces."
  2. Add a model device and assign the pre-run template.
    1. Go to Device Manager.
    2. Click Add Device, and enter the device serial number.
    3. Enable the Pre-Run CLI templates field, and select the pre-run CLI template.
  3. On the CLI template page, check the pre-run CLI template assignment.
    1. Go to Device Manager > Provisioning Templates > CLI Templates.
    2. Review the template under the Pre-Run CLI Template header.
      The configured pre-run CLI template displays that it is assigned to the added model device.
  4. Perform a device or policy package installation. After the installation, the pre-run template content is applied to the device's database and the pre-run CLI template is automatically unassigned from the device.
  5. When modifying the pre-run CLI template script content, you will need to assign the template to devices and perform the installation again to apply the CLI script changes to the device's database.
