Delivery status

The delivery_status field is in FortiMail log messages where type=statistics.

The field indicates the current mail queue and delivery status, when it has changed since the previous history log. It can be:

• delivery_status="Blocked"

• delivery_status="Queued"

• delivery_status="Delivering"

• delivery_status="Delivered"

• delivery_status="Failed"

Delivery that was blocked may have the reason indicated in disposition.

Delivery that had attempts in progress but was experiencing delays will have the same delivery status, but a different notif_delay.

Delivery that failed has the reason indicated in delivery_fail_reason.

Delivery status can be tracked on FortiAnalyzer by sending newer history logs with subtype=update. When the email is queued, delivered, or if delivery fails, then FortiMail sends an update to FortiAnalyzer so that it can show the up-to-date delivery status.

This field is empty ifmailer="proxy", or if the email was rejected and therefore a delivery attempt did not occur.
